Hi I'm Matthew Poe

I am from Riverton UT serving in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. I love lacrosse, life, being a missionary and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 20 years old from Riverton Utah out serving a mission in New England. I love my family, friends, movies, rock climbing, snowboarding, anything outdoors really, and i'm always down for an adventure. I've worked at a local restaurant and a lacrosse store, but most recently I worked at Jiffy Lube. I am currently loving my mission and trying to share the happiness that the Gospel and the Church has brought to my life with others.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom grew up Catholic, and had never really heard of the LDS Church. When she was in her early 30's, she had a good friend who was a member. Her friend invited her to go to Church with her, and my mom agreed. My mom really liked the Church, and visited with the Missionaries for several months before deciding to join the Church. I was 5 when she was baptized, and when I was 8, I chose to be baptized as well. I love the Gospel, and I believe it is the True Church of our Heavenly Father. I have a testimony of the restored Gospel, and truly believe that I am blessed to be a member of this Church and know about eternal families.

How I live my faith

I go to Church every week and like to be with my neighbors and friends. I have served in several callings at the Church, and one of my favorites is Home Teaching. I go with an older guy who is a great guy, and we really enjoy visiting the families in our ward. I know a little sign language, and had the opportunity to teach a family with a deaf member, which was cool. I try to be a good example to my friends, and those around me. I have been blessed to have many friends who share my standards, and that helps. Many of us will be serving a mission for the LDS Church, and I'm very excited to have that opportunity.
