Hi I'm Melodi

I'm a loving, committed wife and mother from New Zealand. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am living my dream of being a wife and mother. Since I was young I have been enthusiastic about art and photography, so I pursue these interests when I can and also work to share them with my 4 young children. I like it when my cooking turns out good (doesn't always happen) and I also like it when my house is tidy (almost never happens). :) I find great joy in improving myself every day, a big part of which is letting go of perfectionism and accepting God's love that is so freely available to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Christian. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known as Mormons. My testimony is built upon my rock and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, and God our Heavenly Father. It is because of the relationship I have with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that I have come to know for myself that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God. My relationship with the Lord has grown as I have spent much time with Him in humble and fervent prayer, trusting in His will and his timing, and while waiting for answers, moving forward with faith. Because of this He has blessed me abundantly with knowledge, understanding and peace concerning my purpose here on earth and the truthfulness of this, His church. As I seek Him in the Holy Scriptures diligently and continually work to apply His principles to my life, I receive witness again and again that this is His work I am a part of. I cannot deny the sweetness I have experienced and the strength I have received as I have dived deep in to His Gospel and participated fully in His church. I am not perfect, I make more mistakes than I can keep track of. But because my Saviour Jesus Christ loves me and has atoned for my sins I can repent and feel confident in trying again. Every day. I am so grateful to the Prophet Joseph Smith for being an instrument in God's hands to restore the Gospel in it's fullness. I know that his was no easy task. I also know that God calls upon His imperfect children to perform His perfect work. Myself included. How grateful I am for a loving Father in Heaven who hears and answers my prayers, and a wonderful Saviour who has provided the way home.

How I live my faith

I spend most of my time in the home caring for my beautiful family. I enjoy participating in the Visiting Teaching programme, which includes visiting with women in my congregation to provide needed help, support and friendship. I'm a relief teacher for the childrens' classes at church on Sunday. When I'm not needed to teach in church I attend class with my 4 year-old son who has Autism. Like all my children, he is amazing. There are challenges involved with his care but he is one of the purest and sweetest people I know, and I definitely consider myself a 'more Christian Christian' as a result of being his mother.
