Hi I'm Brett

I grew up in a lot of places. most of my childhood was spent in Arizona. As a teen I moved to Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a runner. whether it be sprinting or long distance, i love it all! I competed as a 110M and a 300M hurdler in high school. I still continue to compete as well. I ran a 10k just last Saturday. I'm also an adrenaline addict, so i enjoy indulging in a game of paintball or dodge-ball now and again. I believe that God gave us this body to take care of, not to hurt it. I believe by working out, lifting weight and staying active and healthy I can return my body to him in better shape than it was given to me. I find myself incredibly fascinated with the field of law enforcement. I hope to study it and achieve a 4 year degree in it. I also love my country! There's nothing i wouldn't do to protect and preserve my country, liberties, and constitution. With that being said, i have a strong desire to serve in the U.S. armed forces. I despise drugs and the destructive effects they have on everything they contact. Families are left in ruin. lives are lost or enslaved. And, it brings the morals of this once great country to an all time low. I hope to make a difference in my country, my community, and everyone's lives that I will serve. As my choice of career, I plan to be an agent in the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). I am an Eagle Scout. I am a brother to 5 other siblings. I am an uncle to 2 nephews and one niece. I'm Brett, and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. Having said that, I haven't known anything else. Growing up, I always took for granted certain principles of the gospel. it wasn't until about a year ago (Sept 2013), i really wanted to know if the book of Mormon was in fact true. I hadn't really felt the spirit all that often to bare witness of other things i had seen. So, at lunch every day, i decided to sit in a quiet place so i could read. Before starting, i would offer a prayer from the heart to help me to understand what i was reading and keep my focus, and more importantly, to ask for the spirit to testify of truth to me. It didn't come the first time, or the second time... not even the third. But, as my knowledge continued to increase i began to want more. I started making connections from the scriptures to my life and my behaviors. I don't remember the exact occasion or date... but i do remember... the feeling of "that's speaking to me". With tears streaming down my face, i realized finally that the spirit was telling me this is true. I felt immersed in the spirit. i felt relieved and peace... to know that this is Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I'm currently a full-time missionary for the church of Jesus of latter day saints. I've been called to labor and bring others to Christ. I get to teach people about my beliefs everyday, and share my testimony with them! I strive everyday to be an example of Jesus Christ in everything i do. I always try to be close to my God.
