Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in Laie, Hawaii. I love cooking, hiking, and spending time with my husband and baby.

About Me

I recently graduated from college in Family Studies with an emphasis in Human Development. Now I am putting what I learned to good use as a wife and mother. I gave birth to my first and only son two days after I took my last final exam. People often question me about what I can do with my major in regards to a career, but I know that my job as a wife and mother is more important than anything else I could be doing. I grew up in Hawaii, and though I don't live there anymore, I still love warm weather, beaches, and being outside. I love camping, hiking, swimming, and would love to learn how to rock climb some day. My husband and I can hardly wait for when our kids are older and we can go on camping/hiking/climbing trips with them. I love to cook, and often experiment. I like to try foods from other cultures, like Thai, Indian, and Middle Eastern. I usually cook wholesome, healthy food, but I can't deny that I have a sweet tooth :) I love playing with and singing to my baby, and I absolutely love watching my husband play with my baby and make him laugh. It's the sweetest sound in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel because it gives me peace and purpose. It brings me so much peace to know that through the Atonement I can become better and I can overcome sin. It also brings me peace to know that I can be with my family forever; that death is not the end of our sacred relationships. This gives me purpose in life because it makes me want to be a better person and to make family my top priority. I love my Savior and my Father in Heaven. The Gospel gives direction to my life, and helps me to see the grander scheme of things. The Gospel helps me to be less self-centered, and to focus on helping others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every week. My favorite calling has been working in the nursery, where I helped take care of and teach 2-3 year old children. I love how sweet and innocent they are, and I love sharing the simple truths of the gospel with them. I also love visiting other women from church, and helping them out or lifting their spirits.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Our church is organized just like the original Church of Christ. One wonderful thing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that we have continuing revelation. This means that we have a current Prophet and Apostles that receive revelation for the whole Church. The world is constantly changing and we need Apostles that can be inspired and receive revelation to guide us through difficult times. Show more Show less
