Hi I'm Calliane

I'm a small town girl from central Utah. I'm a stay at home mom and loving every minute of it. I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I have my Associates degree and I am one semester away from receiving my Bachelors in Family Consumer and Human Development. But I have put that on hold for a year so that I can be a stay at home mom for my new beautiful daughter (Which I plan to continue to do once I graduate). My husband is working on his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I love to do crafts, cross stitch, go fishing, four wheeling and camping (yes our baby girl is a great camper!), I enjoy playing games with family and friends. A favorite is Settler's of Catan Cities and Knights. But most favorite of all is spending time with my husband and daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

There is something about getting up in the morning and knowing that no matter what happens, you are with your family forever. No matter what mistakes you make, there is always forgiveness and a clean slate ahead. No matter where you are, you are never alone. No matter how lost you feel, there is always a way to find where you need to be. I was born into a family that is LDS. I remember just going to church because that is just what we did every Sunday. Soon it was time to decide for myself if the church was true. Of course I had my doubts. Most everyone does when investigating the truth. You just have to remember to doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. My true turning point was when I was a freshman in college. It didn't happen all at once. It was a gradual thing. I had some incredible roommates who helped me see what was important in life. I read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. I just loved the feeling I got in the end when I knew it was true. All of it. There wasn't a doubt in my mind. That year at school I realized what great joy this gospel brings into my life. I decided that everyone deserves to be that happy. I was convinced I needed to serve a mission. I was blessed enough to have that happiness and to know that this gospel is true and it was my responsibility to share that knowledge. Well, a mission was not in God's plan for me at that time. So it is my job to share that knowledge with anyone, however I can right where I am. So if you feel like you are missing something in your life. Go pray. Read the Book of Mormon. Watch some Mormon Messages. Be HAPPY!!!

How I live my faith

The happiness and joy that comes from the gospel cannot be replaced by anything else. Without the gospel something would be missing. The gospel is a light in my life. Once in a while if I haven't been reading the scriptures or if I have forgotten to pray, I can feel that happiness beginning to fade away. My days seem a little dreary and a little darker. I continually yearn for that light and happiness. So I live my faith by always making sure I have the spirit in my home and with me where ever I go so that I don't have to feel that light and happiness missing. I try my best to read the scriptures or Ensign and pray every day. I pray for experiences to serve others and to have the courage to serve them even if I don't know them. I try to look at everyone around me as Heavenly Father would look at them. When I do this, I am humbled and less likely to jump into judgment. I watch, read and listen to things that uplift me. When I do these things daily, Heavenly Father blesses me with his spirit and I am so much happier.
