Hi I'm Quinton MacCabe

I like reading, writing, and thumb wrestling. I am a missionary in the Iowa Des Moines Mission, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am serving a full-time mission in the beautiful state of Illinois under the jurisdiction of the Iowa Des Moines mission. I am exited to serve the Lord for two years. Many would say that I am giving up two years of my life, but an insightful young man taught me how the Lord is giving me two years of my life to learn and to grow. I have dreams to get a job in which I am on my own dime, which means either entrepreneurship or chasing my childhood dream of being an author. I hope to do this so that I can block out time for my family, and to be able to spend time with them. I want to have a good relationship with my family here on earth so that I can have a good relationship with them in the eternities.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and have been taught my whole life its teachings. However, I invest myself fully in the church, because I have received a confirmation for myself that what I have been taught is true. Understanding that, I try my best to follow Christ. A lot of what I do is just trying to do better today than I did yesterday. I know that when I mess up I distance myself from God, but God does not leave us, rather he loves us. Because of that, he provides a way for us to return to Him. That way is through Jesus Christ. Because of my Savior and Redeemer, I can return to live with Him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by doing the best I can possibly do in every aspect of my life. I go to church every Sunday that I can. I read my scriptures and say my prayers daily. Each day I try to live as Christ lived, I seek for people who might need help, and try to stay productive. I constantly seek to become a more effective instrument in God's hands.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Quinton MacCabe
The family is central to God's plan, and therefore is of utmost importance to Mormons. We believe that God created the family to give us a safe environment in which to learn and to grow. The primary function of parents is a father to provide for us and a mother to nurture us, through which, we are greatly blessed. That being said, each supports and compliments each other in their respective duties. Siblings are also great blessings to each other, because they are able to look after and help one another. The family is so important to us because it is a place where love and support are given. Even though we cannot choose the conditions into which we are born, we can choose to build our family relationships to be stronger and more Christlike. The family is important to each and every one of us, and is central in God's plan for us. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Quinton MacCabe
The missionaries teach of Christ and his Atonement. They talk about how we all as brothers and sisters can come closer to him and understand true principles. They talk about how we can have happy families here on earth, and eternal families after we leave. Overall the missionaries teach about how we can achieve true and lasting happiness. I love listening to our missionaries. Show more Show less
