Hi I'm Elder Daniel Norlund

I was born and raised in California, USA, I have ten siblings most of which are adopted, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a large family of ten other siblings we are Mormons. I was born In California and raised there as well. I've lived on farms and ranches most my life, I love animals. I have been called to serve a mission in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. As of now I am a Volunteer Firefighter and a Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park. Now I am currently serving as a missionary in the Georgia Atlanta mission. I have been blessed to be around some of the best most faithful members and Non-members in the south. I hope that when I return home I can resume my career as a Firefighter and join the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, I don't have a conversion story on how I didn't have the lord in my life before the church; but I do have the blessing of knowing God and Jesus Christ my entire life. I've always known that the church is true through personal prayer and personal revelation. Even in my mid teen years I struggled with the rules of the church but I know that after I had repented God loves me before during and after the sin. God loves us all regardless, we are his children and he will always love us.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly, my calling in ward is a substitute teacher for primary in Sunday school. I've always wanted to serve a mission, now that I am, I'm overwhelmed with the excitement of doing so. I hope that while on my mission I will tell the people of Georgia all the blessings our heavenly father has blessed me with and how the same blessings can be given to them.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Elder Daniel Norlund
The way that our church finances it's operations is by the ancient law of Tithing. We ask the members of the Ward or Branch to pay Tithing or ten percent (10%) of their annual income to our Heavenly Father. When we pay our Tithes, we can expect blessing from our Heavenly Father for helping build up the kingdom of God. When we pay our Tithes the money goes to the building and maintaining church buildings and Temples. Our church is Non-profit, the money used does not go to pay clergy for their sermons, it goes to maintenance of buildings as well as the building of new buildings and resources to help people in need in times of disaster or distress. Knowing that my ten percent goes to the building of the Kingdom of God helps me to be able to pay it more readily. One of our Prophets Gordon B. Hinkley has said "Tithing is not so much a matter of dollars as it is a matter of faith." I truly believe those words. I know that if we pay this measly ten percent to our Heavenly Father he will return the favor in blessings more than we could have imagined. Show more Show less
