Hi I'm James

I'm a native Texan. I enjoy the outdoors. I'm a husband, brother, and son. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

If I were to be asked in a work setting, "What defines you?", I would say my beliefs and goals. If I were asked "What motivates you?", I would say wanting to be my best no matter the situation. If I were asked "How do you want to be seen 20 years from now?", I would say I want to be known as standing up for what is right, always living up to the promises I make, and being courageous enough to be the best I can be. In reality, all I am saying is that I want to be like the Savior Jesus Christ. I want to be the best I can be so that some day I can live in his presence with my family for all eternity. I am not perfect and know I will never be perfect, but through the Savior and His Sacrifice, I can live with Him and my family forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe God exists, that he loves me, and that he loves me so much that he sent his Only Begotten Son to die for me so that I may have a chance at salvation. I have felt God's love, comfort, peace, and assurance through the Holy Ghost. I know that the Holy Ghost testifies of truth and therefore I know that what I have felt is God's witness of truth to me. This same witness has accompanied me every time I read the Bible, Book of Mormon, and hear the words of our modern day prophet and apostles. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides all the answers of the soul and I am comforted by the doctrines that the Bible and especially the Book of Mormon teaches about our purpose on this earth, where we came from, why we are here, where we are going, why good things happen to bad people, etc. I am a Mormon because I have prayed and asked my Father in heaven what his truth is. I have come to know that it is here!

How I live my faith

I grew up in a home where my parents worked very hard to teach my siblings and me about our Savior Jesus Christ. We spent Sundays in our home trying to concentrate on our Savior's sacrifice. Through the many lessons they taught me about my Savior and His love for me, I decided that I wanted to show my love for Him by teaching his gospel in California for two years. This experience taught me that the whole world and all of the blessings in it are possible because of the Sacrifice of our Savior. There would be no true joy unless Christ came to bring hope for all of us. After this wonderful experience, I still worked hard to share what I know to be true with others. I also made sure that when I was given the opportunity to serve, I did not pass it up. As years have passed and life changes have occurred, I have retained my testimony of my Savior and let it guide me in all decisions of my life. The most important of which was to marry my beautiful wife. Since my wife and I have been married, we have worked to duplicate the loving homes that we grew to love during our childhood. We have made the Savior the most important component of our life and home. We also seek to share our beliefs with others, not because we want to push our beliefs on people but because we have been so happy because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that we want others to experience the same joy and happiness.
