Hi I'm Jacob Gerber

I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I am Deaf. I love gymnastics, lacrosse, swimming, and many other sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I became an Eagle Scout when I was 18 years old. I was raised to become an Athlete. I am Deaf and I enjoy to hang out with people. I have received a Cochlear Implant surgery when I was 11 years old. I love to hear many music that can inspire my thoughts, words, and my actions. My first language is American Sign Language. I learned how to speak when I was young by taking speech classes for years. I graduated from my high school. Now I am called to serve an ASL mission in Seattle, Washington. I was raised in my good family that is active in the LDS church. I am inspired by teaching about cultures and my religion.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I am a Mormon is because of great principles that able to guide me to feel peace in my heart. I know that this LDS church is true because of feeling with full understanding of why I am here upon this earth.

How I live my faith

I loved growing up in my Ward and the Deaf Branch. All the members were so nice and I feel comfortable around them. The members have always support to each other and care about me. Their testimony and their charity have really made my day to be better. Some of the callings I have received have been the president for my quorum when I was 12 years old. When i was 14 years old, I became a home teacher for many years, and now I'm an Elder. In November 5th, I will become an missionary. I study the scriptures everyday and pray multiple times a day for strength and for guidance in my life. I love teaching about Jesus Christ. Knowing about Jesus Christ have really helps me to able to go through my trials no matter if I am Deaf. The faith really helps me to believe that everything is possible for me.
