Hi I'm Emily

I was born and raised in American Fork, Utah. I'm preparing to serve a misison beginning of 2015.

About Me

I'm currently working full time to save up to serve as a full time missionary. I am super excited about giong to preach the gospel. I am the second oldest of six. I love my siblings! We all love sports and playing in the backyard together. Typical 19 year old girl; love listening to music. Echosmith and OneRepulic are my favorites along with The Killers and The Smiths.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. I have felt the sprirt too many times in my life for it not to be. This gospel brings so much truth and peace into my life. I know that God loves me, his daughter. I know that Jesus Christ died for me. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. With his pure act of selflessness I am able to return back to my Heavenly Father. I know for a fact that Joseph Smith was a Prophet called of God. When he was young boy he had a question, so he prayed to find an answer. I know he translated the Book of Mormon- another testament of Jesus Christ. I have grown to love the scriptures and through the scriptures have developed a real relationship with my father in Heaven. I am preparing to go out and serve as a full time missionary hoping to bring the same comfort of peace and light that this gospel brings me.

How I live my faith

I have served as a 2nd counselor for the Relief Society in my last Single's Ward. When I was first called I was scared out of my mind. In this particular ward I was the youngest sister at the time, and at first I had no friends! When my leader asked me if I was nervous about anything I looked up at her and said, "Sister W, I feel awkward reaching out to the sisters because I still feel like they should reaching out to me." The words she spoke next changed my perspective from there on out. She looked at me and said, "Then you go out there and be the person you wish would've approached you." I took those words to heart and ended up having the best time! I gained so many new forever friends from that ward. I know that this calling has prepared for my life forever. So grateful for the calling to serve the women of that Single's Ward.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Emily
A prophet is someone who is called to lead His church. The current Prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. He is then assited by his two counselors-- Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf. God sends us his Prophets to help his earthly children know what they need to hear in these latter days. I'm so grateful for the Prophet and his teachings. Show more Show less
