Hi I'm Ty

I'm from Washington. I am a twin. I'm a history nerd. I'm serving a mission in California, Spanish speaking. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a twin in a family of five children. My parents and most of my extended family are from Idaho Falls ID area. Since November 2014 I have been serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Rancho Cucamonga California mission, Spanish speaking. This was an interesting call as I had previously studied German. I am loving every moment of this great experience to serve the Lord and I would encourage anyone both to go and also to speak to missionaries. I am a history buff, particularly about wars but not limited to only warfare history or to any people or era. I also enjoy geography which I assume comes with enjoying history; I am able to name all 196 sovereign states in the world. I am an Eagle Scout and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, white water rafting and paint-balling. I also enjoy singing and drama as well as drawing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is the fullness of truth, and all truth comes from God. I know that our Heavenly Father desires the happiness of His children, us, so He continually guides us through prophets, His word in scripture and personal revelation through the Holy Ghost. I know that through the gospel principles and ordinances, and through attending Church meetings we can become perfectly happy and return to live with our Father in Heaven, and who wouldn't want that.

How I live my faith

I try to be active in my community and in my ward, which I believe go hand in hand. I participate in annual community service projects. I also have been involved in planning and preparing such service projects within my young men's youth group. I am now a graduate and continually looking for ways to serve. I am a home teacher and enjoy meeting with my families and the joy of serving the as grow to better know each other. I am always trying to be a better example of Christ so that others can see and understand my beliefs. To better serve and know my Heavenly Father and others I have embarked to serve a full time mission in Rancho Cucamonga California. I have left my home town and ward and all schooling and work to better serve the Lord for these two years.
