Hi I'm Trey

I'm the oldest of 6. I am a full-time missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6. I was born in Utah, but have since moved around the country. The best single word to describe me is nerd. I love math and science, and I enjoy working with computers, especially programming. My dream job is as an aerospace engineer, especially with the role that robotics is taking in that field. I have completed a year of college. I am now serving as a full-time missionary assigned to serve in the country of Bulgaria. I will be serving for 2 years, until October 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised into a Mormon family, and my parents have always taught me, but my faith is not dependent on my family. Throughout my life, I had had many small experiences which have confirmed to me the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that there is no proof of the church that everyone can see, but I know that everyone individually can learn to know of the truth, as I have.

How I live my faith

As a priest, I had the opportunity to take the sacrament (communion) to those who were unable to make it to the church for medical reasons, as directed by the local Bishop. I first went with my father, and later my brother. While I was out at college, I did not have these opportunities, but I assisted with record keeping in my college congregation. In October 2014, I came to the Missionary Training Center for a short time before going on to be a missionary in Bulgaria. I will spend two years preaching in the country in the Bulgarian language. I know that as I serve I will be guided by divine inspiration to find those who want to be taught and help them learn. I know that I have been helped already as I try to learn how to best teach others the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Bulgarian. I am anxious to help everyone I can.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Trey
The Book of Mormon is different from the Bible in that it was written by different people. They are the same in that they both teach the same things. Their primary purpose is to testify of Jesus Christ. The prophets that wrote and compiled the Book of Mormon transferred them to the "Golden Plates," which were hidden in the ground. Over a millennia later, an angel told Joseph Smith, a prophet of God, where the plates were. Through the power of God, Joseph Smith translated the plates into English, into the current Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
