Hi I'm Ginger

I'm a mom, a young cancer survivor and an entrepreneur. I started HappyChemo.com to help others facing cancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being alive and spending time with my family. As a cancer survivor, I've learned that life and family are very precious and that the time we get to spend together is priceless. We work hard and play hard because while you can always make money, you can't always make memories. I love backpacking adventures, reading great books, singing out loud and dancing (even if it embarrasses my kids!). Life is awesome!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm often invited to speak at conferences and meetings because of the way I chose to serve others during my cancer treatments. When I'm first introduced to meeting planners or others in leadership positions, they often ask me if 'I'm Mormon' when they learn I'm from Utah. It always makes me smile because I think, "No, I'm not Mormon - I'm Ginger. Weren't we just introduced?" realizing that they must not know who Mormon was." Most people are unaware that Mormon was an ancient prophet whose responsibility was to compile the sacred records of the people who lived on the American continent that testify of Jesus Christ. The record he compiled was called The Book of Mormon, and even though everybody calls us the Mormons because of that book of scripture (which we study in addition to the Bible), we belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And why am I a member of this church? Because in the 'Mormon' church I've found answers to every question I've ever asked: Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life? Did I live before I was born? What happens when I die? Will I live again? Why do we have to go through suffering? Does God have a plan for me? Does God love me? And on and on. Every answer has made sense to my mind and also to my heart and I've felt the Holy Spirit confirm the truth to my soul. I know God lives. I know that Jesus Christ is His Son and our Savior and Redeemer. I know that this church is his gospel, restored to the earth in it's fullness, to bless our lives and bring us great happiness. I know that God still speaks to prophets on the earth today and that He has not left us alone. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and stands as a second witness to the words of the Old and New Testament in the Bible. I have read these books several times and find that I can understand the Bible so much better now! There is so much peace and joy in my life because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it's true.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to live my life so that others can see the blessings that the gospel provides. I feel that the light of Christ can be seen in the simple things - the kind acts of service, the smiles, reaching out to help a stranger - things that the Savior would do. The gospel of Jesus Christ is beautifully simple and provides so much joy and happiness in my life when I live according to its teachings.
