Hi I'm Richard

I am a husband, father, grandfather and Scout Master. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of seven, grandfather of thirty two. My life is all about my family. I love to work with wood and build things for my family. I also love to garden, travel, and go camping. I love to run, I run about 4 miles a day.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both lost their hearing to meningitis when they were children. They met at the nearby deaf school. They married and had a wonderful life as they worked and raised their seven children. A big part of that wonderful life was their involvement and service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They taught me and their other children the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In spite of what many would consider a handicap they held leadership positions among their deaf friends and neighbors in the church. They set an example for me. I have continued to follow in their footsteps. Being a follower of Jesus Christ and raising my family in the church has filled my life with joy and peace. I have had hard times and difficult challenges in my life just like everyone else. But being a Mormon has made all the difference.

How I live my faith

I'm the scout master in our area. I enjoy seeing the young men setting goals in the scouting program and how they reach their different advancements. I love to see them grow into responsible young men. I am a home teacher and enjoying helping and visiting some of the families in my neighborhood. My wife and I have recently been called to serve a mission in South Africa. We are looking forward to spending about 18 months helping people there.
