Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm a builder, a home schooler, a patriot, a family man, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up with the old traditions of hard work and making things do. When I was twelve I asked my mother to take me out of school and to teach me at home. My wife and I now teach our eight children at home, with one helping us from the other side of the veil. We love to watch them grow and develop. We know them better than anyone but the Lord. I now serve on a school board for a private school so that I can share with parents what we have learn about the possibilities and joys of teaching your children. I have studied liberty and traveled to many countries witnessing how it is used and abused. I love to build things and stand back to see what I can do, then look to God's creations and think of how I am such a child in my creations. One of my houses is nothing compared to one of his prairie flowers. I have served on county boards and been involved with freedom since I was twelve years old. I love the freedom to believe and worship my God how I deem it needful and feel that this is a sacred freedom that all should enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church not only allows for the greatest growth, but gives vision for that growth. I can do anything, and I have guidelines that will keep me safe and show me how. The church is like a vehicle to get me and my family where we want to go. I love my Savior and know that He will direct me as much as I am able receive from Him. This church is His. He set it up and directs its path today, right now. Even if the church were not true, its direction and standards provide so much peace and vision that it would be worth it to follow the counsel. But it is true and Christ has called prophets and apostles to preside and direct the affairs of it here until He comes again to the earth. I have known that the Book of Mormon is true ever since I read it at the age of 13. I have known that Joseph Smith was a prophet since I learned about him and God working through him. I have known that Jesus Christ loves me personally ever since I was humble enough to ask sincerely for His help when I was 17 years old and needed it desperately. I have since felt that love reaching out to so many others, whether they wanted it or not. I am a Mormon because it is where I am supposed to be, and want to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by kneeling down each morning to find out what my Father wants me to do today. I serve in His church several times a week both with the youth and adults. One of my favorite things to see and strengthens my faith every time is when I see people and families decide to make changes in their lives that will bring them greater happiness. When they see the need for change in their lives and ask Him, their Father for help, I know it will come and it always does. It's a miracle, and it strengthens my faith each time. I live my faith with my family, by asking for His help each day and reading the His words by both ancient and modern prophets. We talk of what they mean to us and about how our family is going to be eternal. So what do we want to be like. We decided, with the Lord, that one of those attributes is to be big. We have a great start with nine children.
