Hi I'm Joe

I work for the U.S. Government. I'm a retired Army Reserve soldier who lives in the Natural State.

About Me

I'm a grandfather, living in the Natural State (AR). We are empty-nesters now, but my mother-in-law lives with us. I'm loving my life because two good women take care of me and I strive to take care of them. I've worked most of my adult life associated with the U.S. Army or for the Government as a civilian employee of DOD. I'm a professional educator who helps Army Reserve soldiers use Tuition Assistance funds to earn their college degrees. I spent a year in Afghanistan, supporting U.S. soldiers.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon or Latter-day Saint because the Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is the word of God. The Lord touched my heart when I read it and accepted Moroni's challenge to ask God sincerely if this book is true. Through the power of the Holy Ghost I know it's true. I know each time I read it. I thank God for this knowledge that has been the anchor to my faith, trust, and testimony of Christ for most of my life.

How I live my faith

Individually, I strive to increase my faith, trust, and testimony in Jesus Christ through daily prayer and scripture study, family home evening, temple attendance, commandment keeping, and the teachings of our prophets. I want to walk the talk to show that Christ is my exemplar. Collectively, I strive to increase my faith, trust, and testimony in Jesus Christ through church and temple attendance with other members. Participate in our Ward (congregation) activities and Sunday classes. I have home teaching families that I strive to visit monthly to assist them in their faithfulness to the Lord. Service to our fellowmen is key to emulate the example of Christ to develop positive attributes in our lives.
