Hi I'm James

I'm a newly-wed trying to work my way through college, and am loving life. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was raised in a family of nine, the middle of seven children. My parents raised me to work with my hands to support the family and in giving service to others. I am a college student studying to be a physical therapist because I want to help people be happy. My passions in life are playing sports, reading fantasy novels with my wife, cooking (and eating) delicious foods, and spreading cheerfulness in all that I do. And above all these things in importance is my wife's happiness, the love of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised in the teachings of this church, I have struggled at times with knowing what I should believe in. When sorrow or loneliness washed through me, leaving me to doubt myself and my faith, never more than a couple days could pass before peace came again. My mind and soul found anchor in the Rock of Salvation, even Jesus Christ. I have found a lasting peace, hope and love that comes in the teachings of this church. If I am any example to follow, then I invite you to learn and understand the teachings of Christ, for they will lead you in the ways of truth and eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I am a person who likes to lead by example. I am a strong believer in what has been called The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". And holding to this belief, a goal of mine is to never speak evil of another person. Also included in my goals is to be quick to forgive and to ask for forgiveness. I have held several responsibilities in this church over the years. One was teaching the Sunday School lessons. Another was coordinating the cleaning of the chapel. In all of my duties performed I have found joy, knowing that I have been in the service of my God.
