Hi I'm Lucas

I'm a photographer. I'm an actor. I'm a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent high school graduate, I've been accepted into college, but I am a missionary, called to serve in Lisbon, Portugal. I have forgon two years I could be in school and instead spend them teaching people about my beliefs and the Gospel of Christ. And I'm loving every second of it. I have been acting since I was ten-years-old and it is one of my passions. Maybe someday I will pursue it. I'm not sure, I'm still making up my mind. I'm still a teenager. I've been in many different plays, including Shakespeare, which has become another passion. I have a dream of one day playing the role of Hamlet. Photography is another passion of mine. I don't know what sparked it, but one day I decided that I wanted to do it and improve. So I saved up for a new camera and I've been perfecting my art ever since. There's always more to learn. I have a new path ahead of me now, and I'm excited to see where I decide to go.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the gospel of Christ and his one, complete and true church. I have been elsewhere and experienced others' services, and nothing makes a much sense, or feels the same as this church. I know that this is the only church that has the complete gospel of Christ. Christ's love and atonement have the power to heal and bring me to my Father in Heaven. And through his prophet Joseph Smith down until today with Thomas S. Monson he has restored and led his church upon this Earth, and I know it to be true.

How I live my faith

I try to find ways to serve those around me, anything so that I can just help the world be a bit brighter. I try to remember that those around me are as important to God as I am.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Lucas
There's two answers to this question. No. A mission is in no way a requirement of members of the church. But on the other hand, Why wouldn't you want to? I know this gospel to be true, and they best way I can think of showing my faith to God and those around me is by giving two years of my life to serve as Christ would. I've given up being in regular contact with my family and friends, left behind social media, music, worldly possessions all for the purpose of focusing 730 days on the Gospel of Christ and my ability to share it with anyone who will listen. I get to share the happiest message in the world, and show others how truly amazing it is. I am paying out of my own pocket to be able to do this. This isn't a requirement set by my church or even by my God. But yes it is a requirement. For me, I MADE it a requirement! I love to gospel of Jesus Christ and I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is his restored church on the Earth and I plan to share that with everyone I can! Show more Show less
