Hi I'm Christie

I'm working on an MBA and want to work in tech marketing. I love to bake. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I'm living in Utah now, I grew up in both Missouri and Texas. I'm in Utah working on an MBA and, upon graduation, hope to get a job as a marketer for a technology company. I previously worked for an advertising agency and loved my time as an account manager. I'm also an actress, spending much of my undergrad on the stage. I particularly love Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, and Sarah Ruhl. In my free time, I'm usually either reading or eating. Books feed my mind and food (especially cake and cold cereal) fuels my body.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am curious. I have always wanted to know more about my purpose in life and why I am here. I feel a deep connection to God and I've found that I feel closer to Him when I'm actively worshipping. The LDS church trains me with the tools to better understand my Heavenly Father, including prayer, scripture study, personal revelation, and Priesthood blessings. As a Mormon, I am blessed with the gift of the Holy Ghost that helps guide and direct me as I muddle through life's complications and try to become a better, more Christlike individual. The peace I have felt as a Mormon is precious. I often get bogged down by the desire to achieve more and more (academically and professionally), and the LDS church helps me keep the proper perspective on what's truly important--my spouse, family, and relationship to divinity. I embrace Jesus Christ as my personal redeemer, and I believe that the LDS church is a powerful channel to draw closer to Him and more fully accept His atonement. I believe in the power of the LDS church to change people and help them become closer to God. I am a Mormon because I love the Lord and I want to return to live with Him someday. The LDS church helps me find my path back to Him.

How I live my faith

With both of my parents raising me in the LDS church, I've always been a devout Mormon. I currently participate in my community ward by teaching the 16 and 17 year-old Sunday School class with my husband. We love the conversations that come out of the class and the way that the teenagers teach us just as much as we try to teach them.
