Hi I'm Marc

I love cars, I can say something in 30 different languages (usually just a word or phrase), I'm a chiropractor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was so unsure of myself growing up...I thought I did not matter and that no one cared about me besides close family members. I tried to apply myself, though, in school and Boy Scouts and one year even ran for high school student government representative--and I was surprised when my classmates voted for me and I won. I was so nervous doing my public speaking in that role, choking over my words in front of my peers. My mission to Belgium Antwerp Mission (and nearly 3 months in the Birmingham Alabama Mission awaiting my visa) really pulled me out of my shell and helped me to gain some confidence, although to this day I still question myself to some degree. While earning my Bachelors degree at BYU, my self esteem took a big hit when Dental Schools were not saying yes to my application. I prayed for guidance and my research took me in the direction of Chiropractic as a profession. Boy was that a blessing--I love being a chiropractor. People often feel better immediately and the thank you's I hear over and over again day after day are wonderful to this kid that started with low self esteem. Through this and many, many other experiences I have learned that my Heavenly Father is not only aware of me but that He loves me and wants me to be happy in life, and that I matter to Him!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the way to happiness for me. I could have left at any time, any of us can, however I stay for ME! I need Heavenly Father in my life, and I feel Him in so many ways as I attend church weekly, read my scriptures, listen to conference talks, sing songs of worship, serve and so on. Life has not been easy for me, even though people that look at me from afar may think the opposite. We don't really know what anyone is going through do we. I saw a quote recently "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." Through deep struggles I have been humbled and have found that I can trust my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I was asked to be the Ward Mission Leader (again). It is one of those church callings where it can be easy to get bogged down in administrative duties, and miss out on the fun of actually talking to people who are sincerely looking for answers. I enjoy working along with the Full-time missionaries who have such a strong Spirit with them. I strive to listen to what Heavenly Father wants me to do in this calling. He kept telling me to post my profile on this site. So I sure hope my words have some impact for good to someone who reads them.
