Hi I'm Brian

I was born in northern Illinois. I am a Marine and a Sheriffs Deputy. I have been a Mormon for eight years.

About Me

I am a 48 year old man, who enjoys fishing and jogging. I am married, and I have two grown children. I have worked in Law Enforcement since getting out of the Marine Corps. There is not a whole lot else that I think I can say. I loved my time in the Marine Corps. It was a great job and I was surrounded by other grown men stuck on twelve years old.

Why I am a Mormon

Several years ago I met a couple of amazing young men. They shared a message with me and taught me a lesson about the book of Mormon. They were able to answer questions about the scriptures that I had asked for years. They answered questions that very learned men of the cloth were unable to. I prayed more during that part of my life than I ever had in previous years. I knew that what I was being taught was true, I knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet but I had so many personal problems that I needed to overcome. Through those prayers and with the help of my Church family I overcame and moved forward. I have gone to a great many different churches but none were giving me the fulfillment that I was looking for it felt like none of them were ever on the same sheet of music. I have found with our church that if I go visit another ward that I will get the same lesson as I would at my home ward. I love hearing the Prophet speak twice a year during General Conference, it feels like he is speaking directly to me as with all of the speakers.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? I am able to attend church twice a month my work schedule is pretty hectic. My wife and I manage to get our scripture study and prayer in almost every day. I do not always get my personal scripture study in but I get the prayer in. My calling is Ward Missionary and I enjoy going out with the full time missionaries, they are pretty amazing and knowledgeable for being so young. I try to help out as much as I can when I can. I have been asked once to give a talk during church it really scared me while I was up there but once I had given it I was glad to have done so.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The Missionaries will learn from you and your family as they teach you. They will determine needs and a friendship will ensue that may last a lifetime. Show more Show less
