Hi I'm Janessa

I'm a cheerleader, a dancer, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been dancing since I was six and I've been a cheerleader for ten years. I love being active and learning new ways to keep myself healthy. I plan to go to college at BYU-I and major in exercise physiology, but for now I have been called to serve in the Sweden Stockholm mission. Currently serving the people of Sweden!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Christ lived on the earth and that He died for my sins. MINE. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in the spring of 1820 and asked him to help restore the fullness of the gospel to the world. I've heard people tell me, "but Janessa, you grew up in the church, the only reason you believe that is because it's all you've ever learned about." I may have grown up in the church, my parents teaching me Book of Mormon stories from the time I was born, but I wasn't preprogrammed to believe the first things I hear--none of us were. I've been an investigator in this faith since day one. I've had my share of questions and I still have more everyday. I've received so many answers to these questions but I still have many that aren't answered yet. I don't mind that I haven't got all the answers, I hold on to the things I do know. I know Jesus Christ is my brother and he suffered for my sins. He made it possible for me to be forgiven of all the wrong choices and mistakes I've made. Because of him I can return to my Heavenly Father and for that I am eternally grateful. I know that I'm a daughter of God, and that his love for me is infinite. I know this because He answers my prayers. He has been there for me in times that I haven't had anyone else to turn to. He knows me better than I might even know myself and everyday I remember a little more about Him and the kind of person He is. He is my Heavenly Father, and I choose to be a member of this church because of Him and the answer I received from Him that this is the only true church on the face of the earth.

How I live my faith

As a missionary I literally wear the name of Jesus Christ on my heart at all times. I try to bring honor to His name through everything I do. The phrase "What Would Jesus Do?" takes on a greater meaning when you are a representative of Him everyday of your life.
