Hi I'm J.R.

I am a traveler. I have seen rockets launch in Florida, explored the Grand Canyon, made maple syrup in Vermont, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

From the age of one I have moved around the country. I have been coast to coast. I have seen the wonders of this country. I love to see new things and go to new places. I have never had solid friends because of my constant moving, but I have the best family in the world. Many time when we moved, we built our own house. From the age of 8 I have been constructing homes. My blood and sweat is in many homes. I now love to build. Moving has given me excellent experiences to find and try new hobbies. When I live in windy areas I utilize it with the hobby of power kiting. A power kite is like a mini parachute. It is powerful enough to pull you and allow for aerial acrobatics, but does not have the power to seriously hurt you. When I am near water I love to kayak. My favorite is when I find someone to come with me in my dual kayak. It is a ton of fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into this church. My parents, grandparents, and great grandparents are all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has been a great blessing to have the support of family and friend in living the gospel. I don't have a great conversion story but have always known the church was true.

How I live my faith

I am an huge scouter. Moving so much has given me many unique opportunities in scouting. In my area right know for the past three years or so I have been the leader in my group of scouts. I am proud to say I lead them well and one of them received their Eagle Scout award. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I have many responsibilities. First I am responsible for a small group of teenagers my age. Together we have done much god helping to stack wood, clear snow and do general service. Also in the church I help people learn about their family history. I help them find their ancestors and stories about them. In our church, family past, present, and future are very important. I use programs online to find and organize my ancestors. I have been able to trace my family back 2000 years. You can trace your family back even further.
