Hi I'm Kristy Rose

I'm a Mormon. I am retired. I worked for 26 years as a communications operator for the California Highway Patrol.

About Me

I have no children of my own but have 2 stepsons who are married now. I am divorced. I enjoy crafting and art. I love drawing and use mostly colored pencils. I make jewelry for my family and friends and for my own pleasure. I used to be very physical but over the years have had to slow down. I love to do what physical work I can and each year help to load and unload and stack my own wood for winter. It's one thing that helps me physically. I am building a garden in my yard. It's just starting out, but will be beautiful in a few years. I also have a pet cat and an empty fish tank that will soon have a community of fresh water fish who, no doubt, will torment my cat. She, in turn, will be fascinated by them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the message is true. I have studied it and and prayed about it. I have sought counsel from my Heavenly Father. I have, at times, made poor choices that have led me to be inactive in the Gospel for a number of years. However, I have a testimony of the power of repentance. I know the reality having the Lord in my life and the difference when He is not here. I know for sure that God hears and answers prayers. He has answered mine and in most definitive ways. I have learned to listen and hear the "still small voice" and follow. I have a very firm testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church. It was restored to it's fulness, just as Christ had organized it when he was on the earth, by Joseph Smith when he wanted to know which church was true in his day. I have no doubts about this. I hope you can have the same feelings about the truth as I have. We all need to know it for ourselves and that begins with prayer and faith and desire. Ask to know and the Lord will show, teach and expose the truths to you just as He has for me and countless others. It is all real. It is all true.

How I live my faith

I am all about service. I learned a long time ago that service is one way we can learn to love others unconditionally. I am active in my ward and serve as a teacher to our woman's group (called Relief Society). I also work as a Genealogy Consultant and I am trying to work on my own family genealogy. I have done indexing in genealogy so other's can find the records they are trying to locate. I will do whatever I can when asked to help in organizing events, setting things up, serving or preparing or whatever is needed. As long as my body is working right then I am in action. I am a Visiting Teacher as well. I have a list of people I write to each month as they prefer that sort of contact. I enjoy being able to share the Gospel with them.
