Hi I'm Sara Lewis

I love basketball, dancing, Harry Potter and ice-cream. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am currently a sophomore in college and have no clue what I'd like to major in. I am the second oldest of five, with an older sister and three younger brothers. Basketball has always been my favorite sport and I played it in high school. I am one of the biggest Harry Potter freaks ever! But I also love Lord of the Rings. I love listening to music and dancing. And I LOVE musicals.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of my faith in God and his plan for us. One of the greatest gifts of this church is that it allows families to live and be together FOREVER. When we are married in the temple and by God's priesthood power, our families are tied together for eternity. I know that this is possible and that it's real. I know this because I have felt it. That might sound strange or like an invalid argument. But as I have read the Book of Mormon and lived the standards God has established, there has been a spirit and a joy in my life that I have not and cannot find anywhere else. I know God loves us and listens to our prayers. When I have put my trust in God and His will for me and done as He has instructed me to do, my life has been more blessed and better than if I had chosen my own way. I still have trials and hard times, but when I have relied on my Heavenly Father to strengthen and guide me, those trials have been easier to get through. I was born into an lds family, but I have chosen to become baptized and a mormon for myself. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Just as the Bible is a record of the people of Jerusalem, the Book of Mormon is a record of the people in the Americas. As I have read both books, I have been filled with the Spirit of God and have been filled with its truth. My conversion has been a gradual but sure conversion. All I have had to do was to read the Book of Mormon, pray, attend church, and live the standards the church has given us. It has been through this that I have come to know and feel of God's love and to know of the truthfulness of this gospel. I have not had one giant moment of understanding, but it has been time, diligence, and a desire to believe that has given me my faith. It now burns within me and gives me more joy and comfort than I could imagine. I know the gospel is true. I join one of my leaders, Sister Ann Dibb, in saying that "I know it. I live it. I love it!"

How I live my faith

I am currently attending a ward for the young adults. I am a sunday school teacher for the second hour of church. I am also preparing to serve as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm heading to Orlando, Florida for my mission and leave next week!:D

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sara Lewis
We LOVE the Bible!! We believe it is the word of God and a written record of the proceedings of the people in Jerusalem in regard to spiritual things. The Book of Mormon is just another book of God. It is the record of the proceedings of the people in the Americas and it testifies of our loving Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. If we only use one book, either the Bible or the Book of Mormon, it's like trying to see with only one eye. When we use them together, it's like using both eyes to see. By studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon together it becomes clear what Christ's doctrine truly is. :) Show more Show less
