Hi I'm McKenzie Honey

I grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I like to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I go to College at Salt Lake Community College and working on my generals. I work at my Shinning Star Pre-school three days a week. I am currently on my mission in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Mission and love it. I like to play the guitar, piano, sing, and dance. I also enjoy drawing, and writing. I like to try new things and being adventurous. I always like a challenge. I like to make new friends and serve people. I love animals and the out doors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My family is big on religion and have been in the church for centuries. My testimony is very important to me and I would like to bear it to you. I didnt know for my self that this church was true untill a couple of years ago my family had the opportunity to go to New York to see the Hill Comorha pagent. While we were there we had the opportunity to go to the Sacred Grove and each of us went out separate ways were we found ourselves alone. Each of us prayed with a sincere hearts and contrite spirits to know if Joseph Smith really saw Heavenly Father and Christ. I got my answer and this is what I know: I know that the church is true and that we were sent on earth for a reason. I know that Joseph Smith saw Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father in the Sacred Grove and that he is the prophet that translated the Book of Mormon with the power of God. I know that we have a living prophet today to help direct us on the right path. I know that we are all children of God and he loves each and every one of us. I know that families can be together forever. I like to say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Well everyday we are living by faith. I live by faith by sharing my testimony and being an example. Heavenly Father has blessed me in so many ways. He blessd me by being raised in the gospel and going to seminary and institute everyday. He made me who I am and have blessed me with a loving family. He made it possible to go to the Sacred Grove to pray about Joseph Smith and to see the beauty of the earth. He made it possible to go on my mission. By going on my mission I was showing a lot of faith. I've never been away from home before, I wasn't at all talkative, and I was going somewere I've never been before. Everyone has a opportunity each and every day to live by faith and by doing so we become stronger.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

McKenzie Honey
Family is central to God's plan of happiness. Families love, teach, help, and learn from each other. Satan tries to attack the family when this happens we are no longer happy. Without families we feel lost, alone, and fell like no one cares. We can prevent Satan attacking our families if we are strong and being righteous. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

McKenzie Honey
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission but we feel it a privilege to serve people to show our love for others and for the Lord. When serving your fellow being your in the service of your God. Young men are advised to serve a mission. Young women have a choice to go if they desire. Missionaries serve starting at 18-19 years old. If your married and a senior can also serve a mission. Missionaries serve from 18 months for the young women and 2 years for the young men. It's a decision that requires praying, reading the scriptures, and fasting. Show more Show less
