Hi I'm Rebekah

I grew up in Wyoming. I play the fiddle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being from Wyoming, I love the outdoors. Hiking, snowshoeing, swimming, running, and backpacking, are some of my favorite outdoor activities. I love music and play the violin/fiddle. I also really enjoy writing and reading. I am married and have a six-month-old son. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education. I worked for several years as a substitute teacher while in college and after graduating. Currently I enjoy staying at home with my son and being a stay-at-home mom.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church and continue to be a member because I have a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the fully restored church upon this earth. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith did in fact see Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. With divine help I know that Joseph Smith was able to translate The Book of Mormon and that he was given the necessary Priesthood keys to restore Christ's church. He was and is a prophet who received revelation from God. I know these things because I have thoroughly read The Book of Mormon and sincerely prayed to know if it is true. I received an undeniable witness from the Holy Ghost that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith is a true prophet. This gospel is everything to me. Every aspect of my life revolves around my faith. I am given courage and strength to endure and continue on because of the knowledge that has been given to me by being a member of this church. I have that knowledge that I can be with my family for all eternity. I have had several family members pass on but I know that there is an afterlife and that my loved ones wait for me there. I know that it is not enough to just be living in this world. Like Christ, I need to be actively engaged in good works for my fellow men. I testify that Jesus Christ walked this earth. He was the literal son of Mary and also the literal son of our Heavenly Father. He had a mission to accomplish while on this earth and he achieved it. He led a perfect life devoid of sin and willingly gave up his life to atone for my sins so that I could repent and not have to pay for those mistakes. I know because of his atonement that one day my family and I will be resurrected and that we can live again with our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

For the last five years I have worked with children ages 5-8 and teenagers ages 13-18. In that time I organized activities for the youth to participate in such as camping trips, museum field trips, and games at the park. While volunteering in the Cub Scouts, I organized scouting activities for the boys that helped them earn badges. Once a month I visit other female members of the church that I have been assigned and check in on them to make sure they are doing fine. I try to become friends with these important women and offer any services they may need. I want these women to know that I think of them often and desire their well-being. Once a week I meet with other moms from the ward to have a play date for our children. It is a great opportunity for moms to meet new friends and for their children to make new friends as well. I also volunteer for the community and spend a few hours a week at a nursing home visiting the patients there.
