Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Arizona. I enjoy math and solving problems. I play five instruments. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy math because it teaches people how to solve problems. It is through math that I learned that I have all the tools to help others as I learned that I already had the tools I needed to solve each equation. I have an extremely squeamish stomach and cannot stand to look at anything beyond a paper cut. I enjoy any type of food that doesn't come out of the ocean, although I am working on that currently.

Why I am a Mormon

I know this church is true. It is Christ's gospel, in it's completeness. I have become more and more sure of its sincerity since I was born. I had no "flick of the switch" moments where I suddenly realized that this church was true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I didn't have a gradual realization either. Instead, it came more and more to me as I put in my effort and acted on my previous faith. As I acted on faith and prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, I did not receive and answer I expected. I expected an overwhelming sensation of confidence, that there was no way it wasn't true. Instead the answer I received was a thought saying that I've always known, that I didn't need to worry about my faith, that it was in the right place and placed securely in Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and translated the Book of Mormon, which is the most true book of any book on this world. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today, who leads and guides us by the will of Christ and God's loving plan for us.

How I live my faith

I serve people whenever I can. My neighbor's tree fell down? I'm there to help clean it up. Somebody's moving in my area, I'll be there. I help out in my church youth groups and within the leadership itself. I helped plan, schedule and complete activities for the youth to come together and enjoy each other's company. I helped create schedules for volunteering when it was available. My father and I help serve a few families in our area and pay them with monthly visits and serve them in their yards whenever we can and whenever they need it. I help one of these families out by giving their father a ride to church, as his wife just passed away and he's not medically allowed to drive a car. Put simply, I do what I can, whenever I'm able, and for whomever needs it.
