Hi I'm Elijah

I grew up in Utah, I'm a mechanic and a welder. I love riding my jetski's on the lake. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up playing outside. I love anything outdoors! Hunting, fishing, fourwheeling, shooting, and jet skiing. I'm really competitive and love to play sports. My favorite ones are basketball and baseball. I competed nationally in small engine mechanics and worked at a dealership. I'm also an AWS certified welder and did that for a year or so before I left on a mission! I'm serving in Louisiana right now!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church. I was raised in a good home but for a while there I didn't really know why I was going to church. I just did it because I had to. I didn't understand why I had to go Every week. I relied on other peoples testimonies and didn't really care to know for myself if it was true. One day after a rough week in high school, I was really discouraged. I drove around trying to collect my thoughts and figure out what was going on. I pulled over and prayed to God. Prayed like I hadn't ever prayed before. I told Him my problems and my concerns and prayed to know if He was really there. I had an overwhelming feeling that I cant even describe. This feeling of peace washed over me and I knew without a doubt that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. This sparked a desire inside me to know more. So I started to read the Book of Mormon again, but this time with purpose. I really wanted to know if it was true or not. I prayed again to know and just like the scriptures promise, when you pray with real intent with sincerity, you'll receive an answer. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that the church that Jesus set up when he was on the earth has been restored. Its true! Nothing else in my life has brought me more happiness and joy then this gospel. Life is hard and things are never easy. But two people can accomplish anything as long as one of them is God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going out everyday and teaching and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone who will listen. We share with people how the true church has once again been restored to the earth and that they can know for themselves by reading the Book of Mormon.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Elijah
No they're not all required to. Serving a Mission is voluntary but as young men it is a responsibility that we willingly choose to accept. Young women don't have the same responsibility but they can choose to be missionaries as well. People that go on missions are generally 18-19 and go for 18 months to 2 years. Senior Couples go on missions as well. Missionary work is voluntary and that means we don't get paid. Show more Show less
