Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Tampa Florida. I work in the financials services industry as an Information Technology consultant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

During my childhood I lived in various cities in the Southeast United States. I was active in Scouting, School, Music and had what I would say is a pretty typical childhood. I went to college and graduate school, and am now enjoying focusing on my family and career while continuing service in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe deeply its teachings will help me grow closer to my Father in heaven. I go each week because I want to show my love and appreciation to Jesus Christ, its really all about gaining a better understanding of God's laws and how to grow closer to him and his Son. Its hard to explain why this is done, other than to say I've long felt something good and pure about the Church; its the feeling I get each week when I walk into the building and know I'm home - which is probably the best way to describe it. There is so much confusion in the world today, and through the Church we learn about God's plan for his children. This is only possible because of something called the restoration of the Gospel, which explains why there are so many different churches and religions in the world today; and how to identify truth. This knowledge of God's plan and my role in it, help me understand who I am as a person and what my responsibilities are to my family. It brings me a lot of peace and assurance.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was and has been an enormous part of my life. Growing up it provided a solid foundation for my family; the principles we learned, the personal relationships we tried to make with others, service in the community, all came largely through our activity in the Church. I currently serve ten hours a week in a leadership capacity over a group of men. Its a brotherhood that allows us to learn, work and serve together. I grow so much from those I serve with, as we strive to learn more about the teachings of Jesus Christ and how they should be applied in our lives.
