Hi I'm Daniel

I was born in Texas, El Paso. I'm on a mission in Spain, Bacelona. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I've been to England, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, and Italy. I love sports and have a desire that all know the goodness of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I enjoy the outdoors and love being with my family. I love lifting peoples spirits every chance I get. I play the drumset and a few more assorted instruments, like the trombone and tuba. I love to sing, any song that I can sing, or can't, I will sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my experiences in this life and the knowledge that I have gained through my experiences, granted I have had my doubts. Everybody has doubts though, it's how we address these questions that determine who we are. When I was younger my father was abusive, manipulative, and beat me and my family members on a regular basis. I thought at the time "Why would Heavenly Father put me with someone like this?" and then my father left the family, I thought i would be happier but I just felt empty, like a hole was made in my heart that i couldn't fill. Shortly after he left I had to become the father in my family for my younger brothers, I was only 5 years old. I have developed PTSD from this experience and wake up in the middle of the night sometimes screaming or in a cold sweat. I remember asking when I was little "Why does nobody want me? What am I doing here? Why can't I have a dad?" and then my answer came. Before this however, I had decided that God wasn't real and there was nothing after this life, at 5 years old I hated everything, I was convinced that people were inherently evil, but one night I decided to try to pray, one last time. Just as I prayed, a feeling came that was so strong no words in the human language can describe. I remember hearing these few words so clear it was like someone was standing in the room behind me, and I knew it was my Heavenly Father, He said "I am your Father." so simple and yet, just what i needed. Growing up I didn't have someone to play ball with, I had someone much better, someone i could go to for anything, any problem, any trial, and He would know exactly what to say or what I needed to do. From that moment I knew that Heavenly Father loved me astronomically and unconditionally, I knew that He would be with me in every trial in my life. From this experience, I know now what kind of man and father I want to be, and I know that Heavenly Father loves all of His children.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary in Barcelona, Spain. I live my faith in my actions toward my fellow men, a good rule for this is to ask yourself "Am I following the Saviors example?" Every opportunity that I come across to be able to serve I will serve. For example, if someone on the road needs his car to be pushed to a gas station, I will push while he steers. I use my strength as a way to be able to serve people. If someone falls, I pick them up. I feel like if people would use their different abilities to serve, the world would be what we want it to be. Everybody has a talent that they can share to uplift others.
