Hi I'm Kristina

I am a dancer from a small farming town in Washington State, USA. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm, the youngest of five children. I love my family very much. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Dance Education. I am putting that on hold for a year and a half, though, as I'm leaving to serve my Lord on a mission in the wonderful country of Peru. I am very excited for this opportunity!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. It has been such an amazing blessing for me! I know that it has helped to avoid many struggles and has given me a sense of purpose and direction. I think we often feel lost, but whenever I pray or go to Church I know what I need to do and don't feel so alone. Jesus never leaves me. My Savior is the most important person in my life. I know that Jesus Christ died for us, and that He lives now! I know that He knows and loves us each personally. I know that some day I will see Him again. I have a firm testimony in the Restoration of the Gospel and the Book of Mormon, and I know that they can bless us so much. I feel so blessed! I have been given so many amazing blessings and I feel so close to my Father in Heaven! Having lost family members, I take so much comfort in knowing that we will be reunited after death, and that they are safe and happy right now. I know that I will see them again and that my children can be with me after death as well. Although sometimes we think that having religion in our life will imprison us or complicate everything, I know that this is entirely untrue because I have seen for myself that following the Gospel gives me a feeling of freedom, whereas when I have sinned, I have felt so lost and chained to my mistakes. But the Lord forgives our mistakes and helps to just keep getting better. I love that I can always be working towards something in the Gospel, because I would get so bored if I was done already. I know that all these things are "for (my) benefit and learning." I am so grateful for these blessings, which is why I want to share them with others.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the Church! I have been a youth leader and have taught classes in during Sunday meetings. I have done many different service projects through the Church, which I always love to do because I love helping others. I have had many opportunities to show my faith to others, such as when I chose not to participate in my ballet company's Sunday performances so as to keep the Sabbath Day holy, and when I was able to bring two dear friends to the Church by sharing my beliefs with them. Watching their lives change and the happiness they now feel was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I strengthen my faith every day by reading my scriptures, including the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. I also pray each day, as well as attending regular church meetings and attending the temple. I attend a weekly class called Institute where I learn more about the Gospel and can come closer to the Lord.
