Hi I'm Jennifer

I love to try new things. I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life has been filled with opportunities to learn new things. I love the adventure of conquering the unknown. Early in my teen years I was blessed with the adventure of planning for my future with the knowledge that I would not be able bear children. What unfolded was a new world of love, compassion, and understanding for those who suffer. As my friends planned to bring a precious new life home from the hospital I daydreamed about what it would be like to adopt the largest sibling group in the state, or help terminally ill children return to their Heavenly Father. My life has been full of new adventures that have led me to become who I am today. I celebrate my life with a devoted husband who is full of surprises and eight biological children who continually blow my mind. Our home is filled with fun, laughter, music and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each day is a brand new adventure. Today I'm a photographer. I'm a health nut. I'm a blogger. I'm a Mormon. I wonder what I will be tomorrow?

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I had the opportunity to experience different faiths and how they worship. At a very young age I simply liked the deep feelings of the Spirit that I had at the Mormon church. Later I prayed to know if the Mormon church was the restored church of Jesus Christ. I received my witness and have lived faithfully all my life. When I read my scriptures I pray to ask for a witness that the things I am learning are true. When I have trials and challenges in my life I pray to be sustained through them even when the trial is not lifted. When I am faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ and His living prophets my life is good, even when it is hard. I have immeasurable joy. Because of the teachings of the Mormon church, my children are more excellent people. They are good citizens, they are intelligent, they are true friends, they love God and want to serve Him. They are kind, helpful and focused on our family. They love to learn and seek the most from their education. I owe everything I am and everything I have to living the principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have prayed to receive a witness that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. I have prayed to receive a witness that he restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. I have prayed to receive a witness that the Book of Mormon is true. I have been answered by my Heavenly Father that these things are true. I love the warm feeling that comes from true light and knowledge.

How I live my faith

My day is filled with setting a positive example for my children to follow. When my life is in balance there is plenty of time to accomplish the best goals that I have for myself and for my family. I place my personal relationship with my Heavenly Father, my Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost first every day. I study my scriptures along with other excellent books to increase my knowledge of and friendship with Deity. I pray and include Heavenly Father in my decisions. My family comes second. I nurture my relationship with my husband and then I see to the children. We are not afraid to call a family "time out" and just go do something fun together. The family is the most important unit in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We put each other ahead of the pulls of society. Third, I focus on serving my fellow man. I love to volunteer at the school and help with community projects. There is always something I can do to help. Some days I can help big and some days I can help small. Some days I cannot help. I serve with the youth at church. They are an incredible adventure. My love of others grows the most when I am with them. I also focus on my friends. Developing and nurturing friendships helps us to be the hand of God is the lives of others. Who else knows when you need a big hug and some chocolate more than your friends? Last, but always in the rotation for proper balance, is serving me. I love the examples in the scriptures of the Savior taking time to renew himself. Daily I do simple exercises and I eat well. I read excellent fiction and explore new ideas that often turn into new talents. Sometimes I maintain them. Other times I take picture and let it go. Weekly I take an evening to myself to recharge and enjoy just being with me. I have found that this system of balance, achieved with God at the helm of every effort, brings peace and unity to my life. I can accomplish all that is best, and let all that is only good crumble away.
