Hi I'm Christine Guymon

I call both Utah and Tennessee home. I have a passion for reading, music, being outdoors, and laughing. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life and making the most of every day. I grew up in Northern Utah before I moved to Tennessee in high school. During my time in Tennessee I developed a passion for theater and expressing myself through music and other arts. I also received by Nursing Assistant Certification my senior year of high school and discovered my love of health care. After graduating I returned to Utah to study at Southern Utah University and I plan to continue my education there after serving a mission in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, reading books of every and any kind, listening to and playing music, and if I could I'd spend all my time in the great wide world experiencing everything I can. I love being able to hear the stories of other people and learn who they are through what their life experiences have been, I've found that we all have common ground some way or another, even though at first we appear to be as different as night and day. I love laughter and seeing people's faces lite up with a smile, laughter brings light in to any circumstance.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because without this gospel, I would not be the person I am today. It has shaped many aspects of my life, and is a guiding light for making decisions about my future and what kind of life I want to lead. Nothing in my life gives me more happiness and joy than the knowledge being a member of this church brings me, and without it I have no purpose in life. Even though I was raised in the church, there still came a point in my life that I had to decide for myself whether I believed that this church was true. Over time, through serious prayer and scripture reading, I came to gain a testimony of my own that leads me to say that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this gospel is true. Through the many ups and downs life has led me through, I have experienced time and time again the Lord's tender mercies and each one continues to strengthen my faith and testimony. My mission has allowed me to have my faith challenged and tested, but it has only served to deepen my conversion to this gospel. The greatest joy I've experienced in this life is seeing the teachings of Christ and His atonement change the lives of other people. Jesus Christ lives, and I have felt His love for me countless times, it's something that I will never be able to deny.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to live the gospel every day and being an example to all those around me. By living the teachings of Christ, participating in church every Sunday, and being a part of other church activities I am brought closer to those around me as well as to Heavenly Father. I have had the opportunity to serve in leadership positions among the young women in my wards growing up and I also was able to teach a children's class which taught me so much. I was able to get to know those I served on a more personal level and watch them grow in their own faith and testimonies which in turn strengthened mine. Living my faith isn't just about my own personal growth, but about being part of a community and relying on one another for strength. Another way I show my faith is by giving 18 months of my life to the service of the Lord, in preaching the gospel to others and inviting them to come unto Christ. As a missionary I am able to give all that I am, every hour of every day, to Him, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Christine Guymon
A testimony is our belief of what we as a person know to be true. It is the knowledge of things that we have a personal spiritual witness of and have sought out through prayer, scripture study, and personal experience. Our testimonies are constantly growing and building around the foundation of the church's gospel teachings that out Heavenly Father knows us and loves us and that his Son Jesus Christ is our brother and Savior who carried out the Atonement. And that Joseph Smith restored the church to the earth and was called as prophet of it, and that we have living prophets who lead us today. Show more Show less
