Hi I'm Brooke Nielsen

I was born and raised in Southern Utah. I love to sing, play the piano. I'm a returned missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

On my fourth birthday I was in a car accident with my family. Our car rolled and my leg was torn off. I was life-flighted to Primary Children's hospital where I spent several hours in surgery. The doctors there were able to reattach my leg. After a few months I was transferred to Shriner's Hospital for Children. I spent the next fifteen years making regular visits for check-ups and more surgeries. In the summer of 2014 I finally transitioned out of the hospital. I love music. I spent most of my High School years in the choir room singing in the various choirs I was apart of. I learned how to play the piano when I was still in intermediate school, and have been playing ever since! My family sometimes gets annoyed when I play/sing because I'm constantly doing it! During my senior year of High School I played Sister Margeretta in our high school play "The Sound of Music" and I loved every minute of it! My family is very important to me. I have one older brother, two younger brothers, and a little sister. My parents are divorced, but I love them both very much. We love to laugh together and at ourselves we are a very crazy family! I am currently a music major at Southern Utah University, and am enjoying learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it's true. I have prayed and asked if it was true, and I received an answer. Being a Mormon isn't always easy, but it is so worth it. I know my Savior Jesus Christ loves me and has done so much for me, he saved my life, in more ways than one. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have read it, and I know for myself that it is true. I know Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, and that he is a prophet called of God. I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. Living my life as a Mormon isn't always easy, but I know who I am, and I know who I can become.

How I live my faith

In my young single adult ward I was the pianist for one of my classes. I loved it! I've also been a ward chorister. I live my faith every day mostly by just being an example. I dress modestly and try to be kind to the people that I meet. When an opportunity arises to do service I am willing to help. I was able to serve a Spanish speaking mission in New Jersey, and I learned so much from that experience. I strive to continue in my own personal growth and provide what service I can to those around me.
