Hi I'm Scott

I grew up in Nampa, Idaho. I am an Eagle Scout, High School Valedictorian, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing tennis and hanging out with friends. When you first meet me you will think that I am shy and never talk, you will quickly learn that that is not true, but you may wish it was. I love going camping and just having fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life. And admittedly, wasn't always a big supporter of it. Some parts of the church bugged me, and i just wasn't ready to accept that it was true. My biggest "annoyance" was that as a primary aged young man i was told that i HAD to go on a mission. For me, being told that I HAD to give up 2 years of my life, to teach people i had never met seemed kind of foolish and i quite frankly didn't feel comfortable. What made it worse was that if i ever said i didn't want to serve a mission i would then have countless questions fired at me, so i just grudgingly said that i would serve one. But as time passed, and as i learned for myself, i realized that was simply an error of man. God doesn't command us young men to go on a mission, he gives us a wonderful opportunity to go. Rather than saying I HAD to go on a mission, i focused on the fact that i GOT to go on a mission. One of the greatest gifts we have is agency, and after i learned for myself and realized the choice was mine i more than excited to go on a mission for the church. And here i am now in the Provo Mission Training Center, and loving every minute of it. I guess the reason for why i am a Mormon really boils down to that fact that i love it. I love the book of Mormon and the guidance it has given me in my life, i love the fact that every time i read it i learn something new and uplifting. I love the sense of love and respect i feel from the members. I love that were not expected to be perfect, and it is completely understood that we will all make mistakes, and i love the fact that we can make mistakes. I love that the church has truly brought my family together. In fact, if the church wasn't here my parents would have probably never met and i wouldn't have the opportunity to type this today. I am a Mormon because i know it is true, i love that it is true, and my life reflects that it is true. And i am extremely grateful to serve as an ambassador of the lord.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments and listening to the words of the prophets and applying those lessons in my everyday life. I truly believe that everyone in the world has some sort of special gift which can be used to bless not only themselves but everyone around them. My goal is to help people recognize their gift, and to help them learn how to use it.
