Hi I'm Rose

I am a convert to the church. My life has changed dramatically since I joined. I testify that this gospel is true, I am a mormon!

About Me

I am a retired mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I love genealogy, music, arts and crafts, reading, cooking, and collect recipes and cookbooks. I have some college and studied business. I love the church and the gospel. I have a strong testimony of the church and gospel. I love people and I am easy going and have a sense of humor.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I found the true church. I searched for years and attended many many different church's but they just did not seem right or have the answers I needed. When the missionaries were sent to our home, I was going through some very ruff times. My husband invited them in and I was so Leary of them. But after visiting with us several times, the missionaries asked me to pray about it. I prayed for an answer for several days before getting my answer. And when I did it was so powerful, I could not deny the church was true. I had received personal revelation and heard Heavenly Fathers voice clear and concise! From that point on, I have never doubted and I have a very strong testimony. I know the church is true!

How I live my faith

I am a visiting teacher, substitute in the nursery, stake genealogy consultant, and on the Relief Society activities committee. I sing with the choir and love it. I love all my callings and enjoy visiting with my sisters. I love helping anyone with their genealogy, too. I feel lost if I do not go to church every week and attend my meetings. I feel this church has been such a blessing in my life and I would be lost without it.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Rose
When Jesus established his church on the earth, the disciples and others called did not receive any monetary pay. They gave up all they had to follow him. He asked them to follow him and give up all for him. He asked them to be of service, not to expect to receive anything in return, but they would be blessed because they did this. Likewise, we serve in our callings, without pay or compensation, out of love. We do not believe you should be paid to do God's work. Just as Jesus and his disciples did when they were on the earth. Our church is founded on those same principles and practices. That is why we follow the Saviors example and do not get paid to do the Lord's work. Show more Show less
