Hi I'm Colton Bascom

I grew up in Layton Utah and am currently serving in the Nebraska Omaha Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Layton, Utah and now currently serving in the Nebraska Omaha Mission. I love to do anything outdoors from Hunting to Fishing to Basketball to Baseball. Sports are my life. I also like the Country side of everything. Boots, Ropes, and Horses! Family means a ton to me and I am grateful for them and everything that they do for me. I love the Gospel so much. It has helped me in so many ways. In my past I have had many trials but the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been able to help me through then. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that he is always there for me especially when I feel as if I am alone. I am serving in the Nebraska Omaha Mission right now! Being on a mission has really changed me to become a better person and to look at things with a different perspective. Now I know what you must be thinking..... "Nebraska? What a horrible place to serve! Nothing but Corn and Football!" But I have had some of the most amazing experiences out here that I wouldn't trade for the world. I am truly thankful to my Heavenly Father for his hand in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was a kid I have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I guess you could say that I have just been "Born into" to Church. But just like in anything else we grow, kind of develop an attitude and it comes time to where we need to figure out things for ourselves and not just rely on what our parents tell us. In the Book of Mormon, in Alma instructions are given to "experiment on my words" from the Lord. I have simply done so and have seen my life has changed form the terrible to the indescribably amazing. I have felt the love from my Heavenly Father. I know he is there and I know that he exists. He is the most supreme, omnipotent, being ever who leads me and guides me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person that I can possibly be. Even though I am bound to fall and fail at times I do my absolute best to get back up, dust of my shoulders, and keep on running. Life is just a race full of obstacles that we have to charge on head first and overcome, not avoid. If we were to avoid the obstacles in our life we wouldn't get any better, smarter, faster, or stronger. Often I find myself thinking of the great sacrifice and mercy that my Savior, Jesus Christ did for me. It is the ultimate gift.
