Hi I'm Alexis

I grew up in Texas. I will serve a mission at Temple Square. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18. I am the third child of six. I love running, traveling, and photography. I will serve as missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from December 2014 to June 2016. After which I will begin college.

Why I am a Mormon

I know Heavenly Father is real. He loves me. He has a plan for me. He answers my prayers. I know that the Gospel and Priesthood have both been restored. I know because I've asked Him. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet and the Joseph Smith was as well, because I've asked, and received my answers. I know the truth and because I have been blessed with the knowledge it is my responsibility to show and develop this gift that I have been given. I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that living this way is part of His plan for me.

How I live my faith

I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission. I attended four years of seminary and currently attend a weekly class called institute.I attend the temple regularly. I teach the twelve and thirteen year old girls for an hour every Sunday. I absolutely love it. We focus on learning the basic doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The young ladies are so excited about learning the restored Gospel it is such a joy to be able to teach them.

What are Mormon temples used for?

Alexis
Temples are used for worship. Worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints enter in temples to learn, make covenants, and perform sacred ordinances. Some of those ordinances include the eternal marriage and sealing of a man and a woman to each other and any children they may have,as well as the baptism for those who have died without the opportunity to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ.
