Hi I'm Mat Santos

I was born in Brazil, raised in Utah and now live in South Florida. I study Biology/Pre-medicine at FAU, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year of college at Florida Atlantic University. I am majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Statistics and possibly Asian Culture. One of my biggest dreams is to become a doctor, so I plan on going to Medical School once I graduate. I love the medical field and all that it encompasses and I hope to make an impact in medicine. Aside from that, I love to dance! Primarily I love latin dances like salsa, merengue, bachata, and samba. I enjoy almost any kind of sport, but primarily swimming, soccer and volleyball. I have played the violin for over seven years, and I dream of one day traveling the world. I was raised in the church by a single mom and saw my father for the first time in Brazil when I was 10. After that I have gone to see him almost every summer. He is not and has never been a member of the church, but even so is a great man. I love this gospel and everything that it stands for. It has helped shaped me into the man I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know through prayer, fasting, and faith that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is the true church of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. In this gospel we learn our own potential, we learn that families can be together forever and that we come from a loving God who wants us to live with him again. Although a lot of things make this church unique, there is one in particular and that is that the gospel, the teachings of the church make sense. The things we learn in the church are not allusions or abstract concepts. The teachings we learn make sense and are concrete. We know from the bible that Heavenly Father is very organized and likes doing things in their natural order. Like Heavenly Father, concepts in the church also follow an order and also answer SO many questions that science nor other religions can explain. All in all though, it always comes back to the fundamental building block of the church, The Book Of Mormon. It is because of this book and other modern revelation that we know, what we know is true. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and everything in the church. I love this church with all my heart and I know it is true!

How I live my faith

"I will shew thee my faith by my works" - James 2:18 I live my faith through service. We learn in the scriptures that we are to serve all those around you and I do my best to follow this. I have volunteered in soup kitchens, in hospitals, as a coach for 3rd grade soccer, in the church, and in many other instances. I know that through service we are literally able show those around us what we believe in. I live my faith by doing my best to follow the standards the church has set and obeying Heavenly Fathers commandments.
