Hi I'm Carly

I have lived in Utah all of my life. I am serving a mission in Cape Verde very soon. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was going to the University of Utah for Occupational Therapy, but I changed my major. I ended up withdrawing, and I am happy that I did. Simply because if I would have stayed in school, there is no telling where I'd be; but most likely not serving a mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was at a point in my life where it was low, and very dark. I saw happiness in one of my friends, and I drew to it. I wanted his happiness and his pure joy...it was visible in his actions. I hungered for this, and he helped me and suggested I meet with the missionaries. After much deliberation and refusal, I did. Changed my life, and I am truly happy from the depths of my heart and soul. I feel at peace, and a desire to love every soul I meet. We are all beautiful, and deserve a fair chance.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am working two jobs. It gets difficult sometimes to live full faith as I desire. But I simply pray every night for help to do more productive things when I am not working. ie. Replacing my Facebook app with my LDS app to read scriptures instead of reading my friends' posts.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are important because they are gifts to us from God. Each soul is a gift, and to have people around us and develop a family of our own is very special. Not only that, but we as Mormons believe that we can be with our families forever. This means that no matter what happens, we hope to end up being in Heaven with our families again. How we do this is sealing in the Temple. This is why the temple is so sacred. It's a place where we can be sealed spiritually to our families to be together in the spirit world. Show more Show less
