Hi I'm Peter

I grew up in Tennessee and Virginia. I love long distance running. I am learning Finnish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to listen to music. My favorite genre is classic rock. Which is mostly the late 1960's on through the 70's. I have ran half marathons in Richmond, D.C. and Miami. The spring of 2014, I ran my first marathon, the Salt Lake City marathon. Right now, I am a Missionary-in-training to serve in Finland for two years. After my mission, I am planning to attend Brigham Young University. I hope to study something in science. I'm not sure right now what I want to do for a career. However, I am interested in learning how to sail. I love going on adventures. I hope to do much of that in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into a Mormon family, doesn't mean I was already converted. Conversion is an ongoing process. My deepened conversion came from reading the Book of Mormon and praying about the truth it holds. I was in Germany at the time living with my father. Living there for a year was the hardest time of my life. However, it was also the one of the happiest times. As I began reading, I began to see all the small blessings in my life. To me, they were tender little mercies. It showed me how much my Heavenly Father loves me. I could not have succeeded without the strength the lord has given me. I know I am only strong through him. I know if I will rely on him, he will never lead me astray. Even when as seems lost, he is still there. Faith is putting our trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ. I am Mormon because I want to live with my Heavenly Father again. I want to be in harmony with his will. I want to serve him. I love my God. I love my savior, Jesus Christ. I know that true happiness come through Jesus Christ gospel and our Heavenly father's plan. I have tasted this great joy and I invite all to partake of it.

How I live my faith

As I have already mentioned, I am a Missionary as of now. I am choosing to give two years of service to my Lord, Jesus Christ. I want to share with others the love their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for them. I want others to know that Heavenly Father desires more than anything to have his children come and live with him again. I want to be apart of my Heavenly Father's work to bring us back to him. That is through inviting others unto Christ and teaching them about his gospel.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Peter
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. However, we are strongly encouraged to do so. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not exclusive. As many are willing to listen to the teachings and doctrine of Jesus Christ are welcome. Show more Show less
