Hi I'm Cindy Christensen

I'm a Mormon and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 19.

About Me

I am married and have four children and 12 grandchildren. My family means everything to me and we love to get together often. We always have plenty of food and fun! We love to tease each other but are also very supportive of each other. I love to read, bake, and sew. I love to let the grandkids cook in my kitchen and see what they can do! I love sports-just about any kind. I think it is a great way to learn discipline and how to get along with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I went to many different churches before I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (which is the official name of the Mormon Church) I had many questions that none of the other churches seemed to address and I was often told not to worry about my questions. When I learned more about the doctrine of the "Mormon" Church I was immediately drawn to it. There were no unanswered questions. I was taught "Where did I come from?", "Why am I here?" and "Where am I going when I leave this Life?" I knew I had a heavenly Father who loved me, and Jesus Christ had come to this earth to redeem us from our sins. I also had a testimony of the Holy Ghost and had felt him in my life. A great peace came to my heart as I was taught and accepted the teachings of the Savior. I joined the Church when I was nineteen and am now 65 years old. Being baptized into the Church was perhaps the most important thing I have done in my life because it led to so many other important commitments. My life changed forever when I began to obey the Commandments of the Lord and serve others as the Lord would have me do. I know that my Heavenly Father created a plan to bring us back to him someday. I know that plan centers around his Son, Jesus Christ and I am so grateful for Him. I know that when you read the Book of Mormon with pure intent, that the Spirit will testify to you of its truthfulness and confirm that indeed Christ's Church is on the earth today as in olden times. I find joy in the Gospel of Jesus Christ everyday! I will be leaving with my husband to serve a mission in Kenya, Africa and I am so excited to be on the Lord's errand!

How I live my faith

I joined the Church when I was 19 so I have had the opportunity to serve in many ways. I have worked with the younger children and also spent a lot of years working with teenagers which was very rewarding. I've taught many lessons at Church and also was Choir Director for several years. I have really enjoyed the personal growth that comes from serving others. I try to be a good example to those around me who might be influenced by my actions. I want to be a good representative of the Lord and his teachings. I also want to share the happiness I receive when I obey the teachings of the Lord.
