Hi I'm Dawn

During my second year of college I had a need to find truth in my life. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five adult children. I have six grandchildren. I work as a court reporter. I enjoy running and reading. I feel so blessed because of the people that I have in my life. (And my boxer dog, Dozer).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I have felt inspired by the Book of Mormon. These things don't come easy. I found through my over 30 years of being a member that my faith and testimony has been tested. After 24 years of marriage my husband told me he didn't love me anymore. I went through a very dark time in my life with the demise of my marriage and my family. I didn't feel complete anymore. I went through what I considered my 90 days of darkness, alone, in desperation, inconsolable. I continued to pray and attend my church meetings, reading voraciously the words of the prophets. I came out on the other side of that 90 days stronger and committed and knowing I could go on, that life can still have meaning. I found myself closer to Jesus Christ than I ever had been in my life, before or since. Trials do bring us closer to our Savior. Over 12 years later I can say I am grateful for that trial and for all the things I learned. I know God and Jesus know who I am personally. I am grateful for my family and friends. They are what matter most.

How I live my faith

I currently teaching the adult women of the church once a month on religious topics.
