Hi I'm Terry

I chose to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 16. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired educator. I have a wonderful wife, eight children and 25 beautiful grandchildren. I taught 5th grade, middle school science, English, math, social studies and reading, and was a Middle School Assistant Principal. My career covered 31 years. My wife and I have worked in the Jordan River and Draper Temples off and on for over 8 years. during that time we have also served 3 missions: Arkansas Little Rock Mission, Guest Services Mission on Temple Square and a Temple Mission in Washington D.C.. Oct. 16, 2017 we will begin an MLS mission in the Salt Lake City South Mission for the next 18 months. We love the Lord and love to serve Him and our brothers and sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know from many experiences and much study and prayer that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He provided an atonement for my sins and those of all mankind. I know that He and our Father in Heaven appeared to Joseph Smith and through Joseph Smith the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth, Christ's Church was organized again on the earth, the Book of Mormon was brought forth and bears testimony of Christ and of the importance of the Bible and all other scripture that the Lord has given us. I know because the Lord through these scriptures and the Gift and fellowship of the Holy Ghost my life has been given meaning and I have been blessed to know that these things are true. I love my Father in Heaven and our Savior, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost for all of the blessings that they have given me.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith through service. My most important service is to the Lord, my family and the people of the world. I have served the Lord through many service opportunities that have been given me in the Church. I have served in many Church positions from Home Teacher and Sunday School Teacher to leadership positions such as Bishop and in the Temple. I serve my family by trying to be the best example that I can and teaching them to love the Lord and to serve Him and keep His commandments. I spend time serving them when they need to move or remodel or fix something and visiting and supporting them as often as possible when they have concerts, sporting events and other things that they are participating in. I serve the people around me by being involved in my community where I have served on the community council, served in Boy Scouts, done tutoring and other kinds of community service and participated in political conventions and organizations.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Terry
The Lord originally organized His Church with 12 apostles. That organization was designed to continue as shown by the fact that both Matthias and Paul were called as apostles at different times as the need arose. The Lord also called Seventies and persons to fill other callings. As the apostles were killed off with out being able to continue to replace people in these callings the direction and keys of the priesthood were lost and men with different ideas began to change the church in ways that they wanted. When the Lord called Joseph Smith as a prophet the keys of the Priesthood of God were restored and the Lord taught His prophet the proper order of things as He directed Joseph in the reorganizing of His Church.
