Hi I'm Erika

I grew up in Texas. I am a wife and former elementary school teacher, love to bake, and go on road trips. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Florida and my family moved around when I was younger. My parents are both converts to the church and I grew up with a built-in playmate: my sister. I did most of my growing up in Texas. I went to BYU in Provo and majored in Elementary Education. I moved to Texas to accept a teaching job. I later met my husband there and was married a short time later in the Jordan River Temple. My husband and I now have four sweet, loud, beautiful children. When I am not caring for our home and our children, I can be found volunteering at the elementary school, baking, and trying to catch up on my latest crafting project. I love to play board games and would love to travel outside of the country someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the church, but really gained a testimony and a love for following Jesus Christ when I was in high school. I have had my prayers and questions answered so many times that I cannot deny the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father desires all of us to return back to Him someday. Because of the covenants I have made, I can be united with my family forever. I feel peace and hope as I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and invite you to ask your Father in Heaven if they are true so that you can gain that testimony for yourself.

How I live my faith

I try to set a good example for those in my family and those I come in contact with everyday by living the principles that Jesus Christ taught. I love to learn more about Jesus Christ and feel close to Him and others when I follow His teachings. When I was baptized at 8 years old, I made a covenant with my Heavenly Father to try and follow His commandments and to live a life that would please Him. I take that covenant very seriously, and I try to set a good example for my family and friends so that they will want to develop that relationship with Him as well. In my local congregation, I currently serve within the organization for women 18 years and older. I help plan activities and events to enrich their lives in all aspects- spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I have also worked with the young women of the congregation and have learned so much from their example of living in the world but living lives that reflect that they are daughters of God.
