Hi I'm Hualani

I'm from Hawai'i. I'm a Hula dancer. I'm a missionary! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am born and raised in Hawaii. I have three older brothers and I'm the only girl. I graduated from Brigham Young University - Hawaii with my Associates in Arts & Sciences and plan to go back to finish school to get my Bachelors degree. I love my family and spending time with them. I love being adventurous and the outdoors, especially going to the beach and hiking. I love to dance Hula, I feel I can express myself through dance. I enjoy creating all types of crafts. I am a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I will be serving in the Philippines Quezon City Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been struggling throughout my teen years and wanted to make a change in my life. I asked my friend if I could start taking lessons with the missionaries. Every week I committed myself to meet with them and learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I remembered a question that I had when I was 7 years old and I asked my mom, "why do people say, until death do us part? Don't you want to be with them forever?" She never had an answer for me. I thought maybe the missionaries will. The missionaries taught me about the Plan of Salvation or the Plan of Happiness. It is God's plan for all his children to return to him to live with him once again. The missionaries explained that the family is central to his plan and we are able to be with them for eternity. After I have learned about it, I cried and I knew right away that this gospel was for me. I always loved the thought of having an eternal family. Being the only member in my family is difficult and even though my family is of a different faith, I try my best to be an example for them. I want others to feel the same joy I feel when I live this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying and reading the scriptures everyday! I attend church every week to help me learn and strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love to serve my friends and family with every chance I get and I try to follow the best example, Jesus Christ.
