Hi I'm Rachel Rodda

I love food, fashion, family, and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing soccer, spending time with family and friends, shopping (specifically for shoes), snacking on s'mores, and serving others. I love traveling, laughing, and definitely NOT reading. Math could be my favorite subject but I'll never admit to it. Disneyland is my first home and Utah is my second. I am fascinated by photography. I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Everett, Washington. Once I return home I am planning on going to school to major in Elementary Education.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the faithfulness of my parents and grandparents. Their examples have impacted me in immense ways. However, my own personal conversion came more recently. I had always gone through the motions of church (because it was expected) and that was about the extent of my membership. But once I realized I was almost 18 and hadn't received my Young Women's Medallion because of (what should not have been) greater priorities, I decided I needed to get it. After passing off all of the requirements, all I needed to do was read the Book of Mormon. So I read and almost immediately I realized what I had been missing in my life. I was missing the whole point of life. I never saw the Gospel as the central point to guide and direct me in what I needed to be doing. Everything all started to make sense. For once I knew who I am, where I came from, why I am here, what I am supposed to be doing and where I am going. Once I came to this conclusion I started to read on a daily basis, say my prayers morning and night, go to church and attend every meeting because I wanted to learn and grow. After a few months these "simple" things became habits. I became truly happy. I knew that it is wasn't about what I wanted or what I thought was best for me but it is all about what the Lord KNOWS is best for me. So after a lot of studying and a lot of time spent on my knees I knew I needed to serve a mission. I know the church is true. I know Heavenly Father has a plan and part of his plan was sending Jesus Christ to Earth to suffer, bleed, and die for ME. I owe everything to the Savior. The Holy Ghost is there to guide and direct us when we are willing to listen and obey. I am so grateful for the Gospel and for the peace and comfort it brings me in my life. It all starts with the simple things- pray, read, obey, serve.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by serving the Lord as a full time missionary. If YOU know something is true, wouldn't YOU share it with everyone you meet? The Church is true, simple as that.
