Hi I'm Morgan

I grew up all over the United States. I am your average teenager. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As any normal teenager, I spend most of my time at school. I enjoy learning, especially about Social Studies. My favorite thing to do is sing, music is my passion. I take voice lessons and I do choir at school. I really like to sing in church, I can feel the Spirit so strong when I do. I am also a cross country runner, which is a very mentally and physically exhausting sport. The gospel of Jesus Christ definitely helps me as a runner, it gives me peace of mind and body. One of the hardest things I have gone through was moving across the country. I really relied on my testimony of this gospel during the move. The move ended up being just what I needed, so I know God has a plan for me. I am the oldest child in my family, so I have the responsibility of being a role model to my siblings. I love my family and spending time with them, even though my family is anything but perfect.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know in my heart that everything I learn and hear at church, in the scriptures, and through prophets and apostles is true. Living the gospel makes me happy and such a better person. I feel at peace with myself and protected. I decided to be a part of this church when I was 8, and I have never regretted it, once! I know that I will always be a part of this church because I could never live without it's surety in my life. I continue to follow the commandments and the church stuff because I know I have to, and because I want to. I love His church, this is Jesus Christ's church and I will work my whole life to be worthy to represent him. I know that I will someday get the chance to live with Him again and my family. I know Joseph Smith was no fraud, but that he did see 2 personages. I believe Thomas S. Monson to be a true living prophet, who has direct revelation for me. I love God and Jesus and this gospel. I hope for all of you that someday you can feel this happiness I feel, sitting here typing this, because I know if you seek Him and His gospel it will come.

How I live my faith

I am the class president of an amazing group of girls in my ward. My responsibilities include making sure everyone gets along, letting them all know they are loved and welcome, planning group activities, leading things, and much more. I always try my hardest to be there for the girls in my class and to help represent them. As I am a teenager, I do not participate in the adult visiting teaching practice. I try to always text and call all my girls occasionally though. I love representing Mormons, even outside of church. I try to make sure everyone knows I am Mormon, especially at school. I try to get involved with good programs at my school like anti-bullying programs to help stand up for my beliefs in a general way. Anytime I can serve, I am glad too, I believe in leading by example. If I never have to say I'm Mormon and people can tell by my actions, I will be so happy. I also make sure to be very social at school and reach out and be friendly to everyone.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

I have had many experiences where I have told people, who were not Mormon that I was performing baptisms for deceased people and they have become very freaked out. I am here to tell you all about why we do what we do for dead people. As Mormons we believe that everyone who has ever lived and will ever live must have certain things done for them, called ordinances, to have salvation. Since you can only perform the ordinances and do them if you have a body, dead people cannot for they are not yet resurrected and are only spirits. So, worthy members of the church are proxy's for their ancestors and do the ordinances for them through the power of God. This way everyone has the chance to have salvation in Heaven.
