Hi I'm Colin Gillespie

I grew up in Washington. I love to skateboard, or do just about any sport on a board. I am a theater nerd. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was Born and raised into this church. Currently a student and Brigham Young University. I love to learn and strive everyday to increase my knowledge. This does not mean that I don't love to have some good adrenaline pumping fun! I do and have participated in everything from sailing to parkour. I play soccer, basketball, run, swim, sail, skateboard, snowboard, and longboard. I find so much joy in music, playing it, singing it, and listening to it. I have been a theater Kid since I was 16.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and so some of my peers assume that religion was forced upon me, built into me by my parents. But I don't think anything could be farther from the truth. I'm not a mormon because my parents made me one. I'm a mormon because I have a testimony, that God is our loving heavenly father and we are all his children, and that Christ was the son of God, and Christ restored his church on the earth today through Joseph Smith. I have seen The Lord's blessings and miracles and have felt Christ's masterful hand in my life. As I read The Book of Mormon and other scriptures each night, I feel my Savior's love and I know what I read is true. In this world of chaos and turmoil, Jesus Christ is my guiding light, my beacon of hope. I know that he is the only way that we can be saved from the evil surrounding us. I'm a Mormon because I know Christ lives. And know that he loves me, and everyone else on this earth. And I know that Thomas S. Monson is his prophet, his mouthpiece on the earth today and so I should follow him, and be a part of this church. And I want to be a part of bringing the truth, the gospel, and this church, to others. That we may all feel Christ's deep and eternal love. I love the truth offered by this church. I love the spiritual atmosphere I am a part of each and every church meeting. I love the people, who are loving and accepting and will not judge, but only uplift.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live in the way Christ would have me live, and by being "an example of the believers." I study my scriptures and pray regularly that I can continue to have the Holy Spirit with me at all times. I try to honor Christ's name which I have taken upon me, by keeping his commandments and upholding high moral standards. And I live my faith by sharing the truth of the Gospel with others, that they too might know of Christ's love.
